Saturday 27 May
The SunMaid SunBird Association has been invited by the Ballarat Yacht Club to compete in their annual Popeye Race on Saturday 27 May.
11am - The first race starts at 11am with yachts racing in one direction around the perimeter of Lake Wendouree. Crews then come in for lunch at the Yacht Club.
2pm - The second race starts at approx 2pm and is handicapped on finishing order with the slowest yacht in the morning leaving first in the reverse direction around the lake. Racing is generally finished by 3.30pm.
There is a large, easily accessible boat ramp next to the Ballarat Yacht Club. Yachts can be moored overnight at the yacht club which has showers/toilets, etc. The closest accommodation to the Yacht Club is the City Oval Hotel which is a 5-minute walk.
Sunday 28 May
Breakfast is available at the Yacht Club from 8am.
9am – Sail across Lake Wendouree to the Botanic Gardens for coffee at Pipers Restaurant prior to returning to the Yacht Club and boat loading.
1pm - Lunch in the Private Dining Room at the Lake View Hotel followed by the AGM at 2pm.
